“Amazing Stay!”
We had the distinct pleasure of staying at El Amparo/Lemon Tree Retreat in May for 4 nights. We were travelling with our three children (ages 7, 9 and 12) throughout Spain and Portugal. Since returning home to Canada, we have collectively agreed that this was our favourite place we had the opportunity to visit!
Communication prior to arrival was great. Once there, we were greeted by Jodi with a warm welcome and tour of the property. The area is simply stunning – olive groves and almond trees in every direction you look. We opted for homemade pizza and salad our first evening and in addition to the food being wonderful, the sunset view topped it off!
Both Jodi and Nick had recommendations with regards to where we should visit (helpful with children!), and staff member Johanna even went over in detail where we should park when visiting Granada – so extremely helpful. After long days of sightseeing (Nerja, Frigiliana, Granada etc) we were always excited to return to El Amparo. Local attractions include a beautiful lake, roadside hot springs and lovely little Spanish towns!
Our children loved the cats (Kitty Kitty and Spot) and the nearby goats… and they are still talking about them!
The property was extremely clean and well looked after, the pool area was stunning and even our 7 year old is still raving that the beds were very comfortable!
The breakfasts each morning were fantastic and the kids had the opportunity to pick freshly baked bread and treats out of the back of a van that were delivered every morning! What a treat!
Our last evening meal we had at the resort… amazing pork belly prepared by Nick! We enjoyed it with some extremely friendly folks we met from Ireland and it was a perfect way to end off our stay.
We cannot say enough about our stay at El Amparo/Lemon Tree Retreat. We are definitely hoping to return in the future.
