We recommend going to the Spa just before lunch, where you can have a 1 hr circuit of the Spa water Jacuzzi, Steams rooms and plunge Pools, then have Lunch ( Included ) followed by an afternoon lazing by the open air pool which is also fed with Thermal Waters from the Spring.
Somewhat surprisingly, 35 minutes from us is the first Organic Caviar Farm in Europe, the recommended tour just over 2hrs and gives you an understanding of the various stages of Sturgeon development, the curing process and the opportunity to taste all of the different varieties of Caviar. They offer several tours at several price levels, we recommend the €150 option as you get to try much more Caviar but there are cheaper options as well ! 🙂
El Amparo is located minutes from the Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama Natural Park, which offers a variety of hikes through pine forests and up mountains, offering stunning views of Sierra Nevada.
La Maroma, with an altitude of 2069 m, is the highest peak of the Sierra de Tejeda. From the summit are stunning views over the landscape as it extends down to meet the Mediterranean Sea, on clear days you can see the Atlas Mountains across the water on the African continent.

Jess your guide picks you up after breakfast and leads you along country tracks through the olive and almond groves with stunning views of the Sierra Nevada, you then drop down to lake Bermajales for lunch and a swim if you fancy! It’s a stunning fresh water lake with lovely wild swimming. For the fitter groups we then do a 25Km lap of the lake before heading back to Lemon Tree Retreat for a well earned Hot Shower and a Drink!
